Why does everyone think Computer Science = Programming?

I actually prefer having the "computer scientists = programmers" assumption being extant.

Contrast this with my dad, who's an electrical engineer

Random person: What do you do?
loindad: I'm an electrical engineer
Random person: Oh, so you can repair my television!
loindad: No

My Dad was an electronics engineer and he not only could fix TVs, he even built our first one back in the early 1950's when TVs were new and cost a small fortune.

They would be Danes. How would you tell?
