  • Why is Airbus so stupid?

Reading about this Air France ****, why the **** do Airbus planes have little toy joysticks to control the plane?
Why the **** can the pilot manipulate his stick while the co-pilot doesn't notice?
WHY THE **** DOES IT "AVERAGE" THE INPUTS?

Who ever thought this was a good idea...?? How have they been making planes with this obvious deficiency for decades?

That makes no sense at all. In every other aircraft I know of, (which is actually quite a lot, you can ask Kuci, my middle school flight sim addiction was acute), the controls move in tandem for pilot and copilot--this includes helicopters, as well.
If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

Usually the controls are physically chained together so that it's not actually possible to move them independently.

Averaging the inputs is important in the event of an attempted suicide-by-plane scenario. If the captain points the nose down full deflection, the copilot can save the plane by doing the opposite.

They're going to be making at least a few "bubba Airbuses" before too long in Alabama. Knowing that Jethro is going to be responsible for the plane not crashing makes me want to never get on an Airbus ever again.

It seems enough stupidity crossed the pond as well...

Dont forget that your iconic Puritans emigrated because they wanted more religious persecution and control, not less
                  Safer worlds through superior firepower

They wanted to be able to set their own rules within their own entirely Puritan community, and not be persecuted for being Puritan by non-Puritans in Europe. It's called self-determination.

Yeah, but they were also a bunch of dicks who wanted to order everyone else about how to live their lives.

Why would you think that airplanes would be incompetently built in Alabama? Alabama actually has a decent aeronautical engineering community thanks to NASA. And if you own a Japanese car, it was probably built either there or in Georgia or Tennessee.

And why the **** does someone with less flight experience outrank someone with more? And how the **** can they have had such a long conversation and not any one of them be aware of what the **** the plane was actually doing.

Also, AFAIK this was out several months ago. Why so late?

Yeah, they are creating jobs for Americans. And if the planes do crash, well, then more jobs!
