Never mind this theological bollocks...I know how you feel Pax, I am now 35 and it is sometimes hard to see where life is going especially when you feel you are getting a bit older...even if work and everything is going well. Truth is, I don't want to get old and it is hard to know where we are supposed to be at this point in life. I get the impression I am going pretty well, and I think that is all we can hope for in life.

One claimed property of God which makes Him unable to be investigated by science is that He is Omniscient. If you gave faeries that property (or some reasonable approximation there of), they would be unprovably scientifically.

Additionally, due to the 'sufficiently advanced science appears as magic' and 'scientifically proving everything is impossible' means that even if God said 'here I am, probe me' we would still be left without scientific proof that He was God.

Seriously Jon. How can you not see that this can be applied to anything? The mere fact that there are unsubstantiated "claimed properties" tells you that it is imaginary. You can say there are a million omniscient gods and demons, just as easily as there are one. Science distinguishes real from imaginary. Do not confuse faith and science.

You are abusing that statement. It demonstrates that we may merely lack the means of probing god, but offers no proof that he exists. We may lack the means of probing faeires, but any reasonable person would agree that they don't exist. And a reasonable person would have to make the same claim to god.

We have no proof that there isn't a god and you have no proof that there is a god. I kind of hope you're right, but I'm not holding my breath.
God exists to you because you believe. More power to you. But when people say god is the answer to everything, I think they're pushing it.
Now if they said, if you have faith in everything working out and leave god out of it, I don't have the same problem with it. Faith in something has proven to be a powerful thing.
But it's the FAITH and not the 'in something' that is the important thing.

Because this is the best possible world that could be created. We are better off not knowing his complete nature scientifically and not being able to prove scientifically that he exists. However, if you think about it you know that he exists. I know above everything else, that I exist. The next thing that I know, based on the belief that I exist, is that I was created. If all you know is science you don't even know those two things, but science doesn't tell you that either of those things are false.

There are other differences of course. Pikachu is cuter. God has way too many powers to make a decent story but they get around that by making him inexplicably not use his powers.
