    My life

    I am 41 and romantically unhappy. Too an extent. I feel the same way about my professional life.
    I believe that I have made a lot of wrong choices that have led me to a point in my life where I may appear to be more successful than others in the since that I have a good job that I like reasonably well, nice car and etc.. I don't have a relationship with any one that I can say this is it. I also believe that I may have missed my time as far as being a YOUNG filmmaker with few responsibilities. There are a myriad of other things that I wish I would have done with my life other than what I did.

    Why the emphasis on young? Did you set a time limit for things to happen?

      Because when you are young and you don't have kids and bills you can take more risks.

          At least there's that, I guess. I would point out that there's a big difference between alone and lonely.

            I'm really not sure which one I am since I turn down offers for company all the time.

                Seriously try match.com. Yeah, you'll find a lot of dead ends and people who aren't serious but you'll also find a lot of ladies your age or younger who are and you'll certainly get a lot of dates. It sounds like you have your head on straight, have a good career, and can offer a lady a lot so they key is just to get yourself out there. It may seem daunting but in the end you'll be happy you did.

                    Think about changing yourself?

                    What does wealth get you? Same with 'career'. Maybe you have been chasing the wrong thing?

                    There is a difference between having a life partner and being able to spend time with women/have sex. The latter is very nice, but I think that people have a desire for the former (even if they have created themselves such that the former is hard/impossible for them).

                    41 is still young for a man (a woman is a bit different, because if she decides she would like kids it might be difficult.).

                          Ok, so the problem isn't meeting enough ladies but instead it is keeping them or deciding that this woman is the right one for you. Maybe the problem is you push them away or are afraid to commit? I'm not being judgmental because lord knows I've screwed up enough good things, the fear of commitment, the thought that maybe you could do better, when really I should have grabbed the one I'm still pining over because I let her get away. As someone said if you like it you should have put a ring on it. Lord knows I should have.

                          But I'm just the bitter guy who broke up a month ago and who is rapidly approaching your own age so don't listen to me.

                              Such is life PAX, atleast for loners. I'm one too. We can't be happy all the time and we will always want what we don't have. Pray and build your relationship with God. That helps me a lot.
