Yes? Duh? They set off 1500kg of semtex and fertilizer in the center of Manchester and didn't kill a single soul. That's unreal restraint. They even expressed regret for injuring people, which isn't something you'd never hear from the butchers in the UDR, UVA, or UDA.

Seriously, STFU. This is the equivalent of someone mocking America over 9/11. If it's a troll it's in ****ing disgusting taste.
It's literally impossible to calculate how many times worse the death toll on 9/11 was compared to the 1996 Manchester bombing. You need to acquire a sack and some perspective, you whinging imperialist pussy.

No, that's not restraint, that's the sort of incompetence that would be expected from a tool of your (very small and lightly loaded) caliber.

Yes, it was incompetence that led the IRA to call in a bomb warning so people could be evacuated. Jesus Christ, go learn a thing or two before you flap your ****ing mouth, old man.

            2011 - 1987 = 24 years.
            1998 - 1960 = 38 years.

            24 < 38.

            1824/38 = 48 per year
            1503/24 = 62.625 per year

            48 per year < 62.625 per year.

            Try again.

Also 1987 is an incredibly arbitrary number. Why not do 1974-2013? That would make much more sense.

So they called in a warning? Big Fookin' Deal, amateur explosive construction (as in a car bomb) is inherently unstable and unreliable. So, rocket scientist, since you've got PIRA spooge breath, you must know the answer to this: Did the ****ing bomb go off spontaneously? Or was it command detonated? If the first case, then it's just dumb luck as to when it went off. In the second, they clearly didn't give a flying fook as to whether the intended evacuation could be carried out completely within the time given.

You know why they used Semtex, you dumb sack of ****? Because it's goddamn easy to set off by amateurs with low-level detonators.

And of course they ****ing apologized - otherwise, they would have set the whole peace negotiation back to square one, because they wouldn't have been able to rally ignorant apologist bootlickers such as yourself to the "oh, it was an accident, they didn't mean to hurt anyone blah blah fookin' blah"

Keep talking out your ass, you old dumb fuck...

At 9:43 am, Granada Studios on Quay Street received a telephone call claiming that there was a bomb at the corner of Corporation Street and Cannon Street and that it would explode in one hour. The caller had an Irish accent and gave a codeword so that police would know the threat was genuine. ...

The bomb squad arrived from their Liverpool base at 10:46 am and attempted to defuse the bomb using a remote-controlled device, but they ran out of time. The bomb exploded at 11:17 am, causing an estimated £700 million (£1 billion as of 2013)of damage and affecting a third of the city centre's retail space. Marks & Spencer, the sky bridge connecting it with the Arndale Centre, and neighbouring buildings were destroyed. It was the largest peacetime bomb ever detonated in Great Britain

Looking forward to some more uneducated horse**** from you about how amateur this bombing was.

Nice straw man. No one believes it was an accident, and no one who knows the facts thinks they wanted to hurt anyone. It was far more useful politically to impose economic costs on the British while not providing any bodies for the British government to rally support for their continued military occupation of Northern Ireland around.

Actually, the PIRA used Semtex for two reasons.

                      1. Libya bought a ****load of it in the late '70s and early '80s (around 700 tons), and Libya was the PIRA's major weapons supplier outside the United States.

                      2. Semtex was favored by terrorist groups because it was extremely hard to detect before they started adding a tagging agent to it in 1991.

                      Keep talking...

Why don't you get on your knees and I'll come over and skull **** you to give you some brains? So they set the timer to go off at 11:17? I suppose you were there, playing Jane Bondage to some strapping PIRA stud so you know all about it?

Or oh, you looked up a wikipedia article and read between the lines to reach a conclusion not in the wiki article, because that's the limit of your so-called intellect? You're living proof that trailer trash can breed successfully with sows.

The majority of those killed by the PIRA and other republican paramilitaries (52%) were members of the British security services. Only 35% were civilians. Killing civilians was a bad move politically, so they wisely tried to limit it.

Those killed by British security forces, on the other hand, were majority civilian (52%). Their ****ty Unionist allies managed to kill 85% civilians.

The logical conclusion is that they waited the promised hour and then remote-detonated once the bomb squad was clear. You probably think that's too professional for the cell that set off the largest bomb in Great Britain since WWII and remains unidentified and free to this day, though.

Oh, you make it too easy, ****bird. No ****, Semtex was easy to hide as a standalone explosive in a letter bomb, or in a tape recorder a la Pan Am 103. If you've got a car bomb full of more than a ton of goddamn nitrate fertilizer, then there's not much use to worrying about hiding the Semtex, is there, moron? "Gee, there's a car with over a ton of fertilizer that smells like ****, should we check it out?" "Naaah, we can't detect any Semtex in it, so it must be nothing. Just some little old lady going to do some gardening."

You have the IQ of a ****ing turnip.

You use the Semtex in that case because it's easy to detonate and high enough order to trigger the fertilizer.

Do you think they drove the ****ing truck over to Manchester from Belfast? The difficulty of detecting Semtex was useful for the PIRA because they had to smuggle the **** into Northern Ireland, then sneak it into Great Britain, then keep it hidden until they were ready to use it.
