You're now the second person to confuse a definitional problem with a measurement one. There is no issue with measuring the 99th percentile internationally. The problem (which I correctly anticipated) is that the extant measures cannot be applied to the international population blindly (nor across eras). Thus, a statement that denies a patently obvious tautology.

Only jaguar thought broadly enough here. The rest of you were trapped, and were letting ridiculous arguments like alby's stand.

If you think that I didn't anticipate having this exact conversation when I posted my claim, then you need to have your head examined. What I will say is that I expected to catch alby alone, not the rest of you.

My argument is that if I took the time, I could list more than 20000 people who are more intelligent than you as indicated by external measurements of intelligence.

        • No, your argument is to conflate intelligence with achievement and think it's clever.

          • I thought very broadly about Al B's statement, so broadly in fact I realized the insignificance of it and complete uselessness of addressing it in any regard. However I then came to Poly to post about it and in doing so I think nullified any real claim to achievement in that regard.

I don't see how you can maintain that test taking ability is a better measure of intelligence.

Good job, you've partially emulated a BK thread. Whatever makes you happy, I guess.

Yes, of course I know that.

I still don't get it though and was genuinely interested in learning something outside the trolling which is why I asked.

Alby said "there are 70 million people who are 99th percentile IQ"

                    You said.

"no, there are not 70 million people who are 99th percentile IQ"

                    Which is wrong.

                    Correct would be:

"we don't have a measure of the 99th percentile we can apply internationally"

Sure, you (we) could correctly anticipate the error he was going to make, but he hadn't made it in that statement yet.

I'm happy now that there's nothing I missed.
