No, I'm reacting with revolt and disgust towards a racist newpaper who delight in trying to bring misery and hate to minority groups in the UK. That's why I'm in this thread.

Why are we holding Muslims to a higher standard of conviction in under a decade?
It wan't the cops who were letting the priests get away with molesting children, it was the Roman Catholic hierarchy who were covering up. Has there been any evicence that the crimes of these men were covered up by any Islamic religious official?

Unfortunately we live in the same country where the police in various cases have been discovered to have been institutionally racist- towards the Irish (remember the 1970s and the Birmingham Six and the Guildford Four ?), people of Afro-Caribbean descent (Broadwater Farm) and basically anyone not the same shade of white as a K.K.K. hood.

If there was case of child abuse and rape involving ONLY Muslim men from a particular ethnic background, then after the various disclosures concerning planted or tainted evidence relating to people from ethnic minorities, I can well understand how more caution would be required before pursuing a particular investigation and prosecution- especially in any area where there may be the potential for urban unrest.

This doesn't mean I condone child abuse or the police 'going easy' on Muslims or any religious or ethnic minority- I don't.

Being PC is what prevented action being taken
Ah. So not calling people n*ggers or camel jockeys or queer c*nts is to blame. Not the justice system's own lamentable record of failed prosecutions and overturned convictions where people from minority communities are concerned...

The report into the murder of Stephen Lawrence labelled London's police force "institutionally racist" and condemned officers for "fundamental errors".

        The Cardiff Three:

THE family of one of the surviving members of the Cardiff Three has today pleaded for the chance to take the witness stand if a public inquiry into the collapse of the £30m Lynette White police corruption trial goes ahead.

        The Birmingham Six:

The Birmingham Six were released exactly 20 years ago, but the injustices that led to their wrongful conviction are now coming to bear on a new 'suspect community', writes solicitor Gareth Peirce

        Winston Silcott:

Twice convicted of murder, and cleared of one of the killings on appeal, he has long been a symbolic figure for campaigners who believe his jailing had more to do with prejudice than justice.

In my humble opinion, this is precisely the sort of politicking the law-enforcement system needs to have none of.
In the moment law-enforcement officials begin to think of the sircumstances and and consequences of law-enforcement actions with regards to people based on who they are: whether it is social, economical or cultural background, a strong, rapid erosion of the concept of the primacy of law occurs.

This erosion then harms ALL facts and walks of life, as law structures our behavior as people in societies.

The Cardiff 3 was policing at its finest. The police set out to find and arrest one blood-covered white man. They came back with three entirely unbloodied black men.

I've heard some delightful stories about The Met from a Mauritian friend/colleague of mine. Educated guy but is a "darker shade" so, of course, that's made him a bit of a target early in the morning (out early in the morning because of shift work).

By which you mean, getaway driver gear shift work. Right?
