He expressed concern that the men came from closed communities which may have turned a blind eye to what was happening - either out of fear or because the girls concerned were from a different community.

His exact quote is further down in the article - basically saying that people knew about what was going on but didn't do anything about it either through fear or because they were white. Of course the whole muslim community isn't to blame - but it is a significant problem. In recent weeks we have had similar cases in Birmingham, Rochdale and Carlise. Poor treatment of white woman in Bradford and other northern towns is well known.

Being PC is what prevented action being taken...you're still being PC and burying your head in the sand.
