  • I'm sure you'll be a great engineer even iff you don't know something like the moons of Jupiter. Astronomy pretty much doesn't matter.

    • Since you can google something like which moons are the Galilean moons, it's true that the average Joe doesn't have to know those sorts of things. But having a sense of where you are in the universe (both in a historical sense and a geographic sense) is still quite valuable, even if not in a way that is easily articulated.
