I can't believe you actually wrote that. I can't believe that you actually think that, but the fact that you would admit to believing that is even more astonishing. This is thoroughly not okay. This goes beyond anti-Israel into anti-Semitic territory.
I can't believe you're so woefully ignorant. I'm referring to The Balfour Proclamation,a document promising to give the Jewish people their own state in Palestine, published by the British government during WW 1 two decades before the Holocaust. It was a cynical political act. The British government was certainly aware that the area was already inhabited, yet they went ahead and promised to give away someone else's land in the hopes of inspiring German Jews to work against the Kaiser's government. It didn't work but after the war Jewish organisations held the British government to the promise. I'm merely pointing out that it was the government of the speaker in the video, who is British, that started the whole idea that Jewish people had the right to displace the native Palestinians from their homes.

What's crazy is that the British benefited from Arab uprisings against the Ottomans.

One picture doesn't tell a story. I'm not saying it was the right thing to do, I'm saying that I don't know and won't judge by a snapshot in time.

He's a field grade officer who was caught on camera committing assault. I'm not sure what could justify his actions or how they are excusable, especially given his station. As the article notes, he was also unapologetic for the incident.

Short trousers (British English) or school shorts These are fully tailored and usually lined shorts with full zip fly and belt loops, in former times of flannel, nowadays of a cotton/synthetic mixture, typically in grey, worn by male primary and secondary school students as part of a formal school uniform in Britain, Australia, Singapore, South Africa and New Zealand, and also by Cub scouts.

That's what they are, that doesn't mean people wear them.

The fact that this is a high ranking IDF officer makes this a bit troubling.

I'd think that shorts would be a little too cool for most of the school year in Britain.

Not any longer. Brave the non-feepaying school that tried to enforce that. They do wear shorts in Australia, however, but given the rather different temperatures and amounts of sunshine, that's somewhat less surprising. I still felt dirty upon realizing the strapping young public utility worker I was drooling over on a Melbourne tram was in fact a 17-18 year old schoolboy. He was quite hirsute and dark....
