Of course, we ain't never gonna have single payer, so that does us a ****load of good.
Not so sure...This may end up being the compromise every politician needs. Obamacare, if nothing else, has certainly brought the debate to the front. Republicans will have to put up or shut up now and democrats will scramble to get something that even remotely resembles the monstrocity they tried to force down everyones throat. I would look for something like this to get serious debate in early spring next year.

I don't think he did. Note the comma and not period. $1,131b = $1.131t.

You think the deficit is going to go up by a quadrillion dollars?

What does ACA have to do with universal healthcare exactly?

That's right, sick people in Europe just die unless they can come and be saved by brave American doctors. You have indeed revealed the sordid truth. Well done, you should feel very proud.

Thought I would check out your link here...when you actually click on the word "poll" and it takes you to the results page this is what it says about healthcare:

"On the matter of health insurance ... Nearly half of all Americans now want the government to provide it for all problems. That's up from just over a quarter in 1979"

Now I AM from the South and could be mathmatically challenged, but aroung these here parts "Nearly half" does not equal 59%. Of course, I am not up on the left coast fancy math....

The Affordable Care Act? Nothing in my opinion.

                        Damn...my source is finally revealed.

They might be wealthy people who are willing to pay a lot of money to see a specialist rather than accept whatever their government is willing to offer to everyone. It would be helpful if you provided a link to wherever you read about this.

                          • In many European countries bribing doctors in order to get appointments is a fact of life due to rationing.

                            • Incidentally in the last month I was rushed by ambulance to hospital with a serious injury, treated including a night in hospital, had X-rays and followup tests, saw a GP twice, and will see several other doctors in the coming month.

                              It cost me exactly £0.00

An American friend is currently suffering dangerous medical symptoms. They are planning to go an see a doctor next time they get paid.

Yeah, we should certainly all follow Americas lead on healthcare.

                              • It cost you a hell of a lot more than that in taxes.
