What are the risks involved? Often drugs remain on prescription because of side effects or ease of overdose.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Russia also sells codeine over the counter, which addicts mix with iodine, lighter fluid, and cleaning oil, to produce a drug called krokodil that gets them high and melts their skin off. Just saying that Russia is not necessarily the gold standard of drug regulation.

          Hmmm...

Not Okay: Calling a politically active group feminazis.
Okay: Call a politically active entertainer a flaming nazi gasbag.

Interesting the judgments polypeople justify to themselves.

Support the right to free speech for ALL parties. If the only sppech allowed was that which you agree with then we would have a much less free nation to live in.

(note: Before you jump...I did not support what Limbaugh said, but I certainly support his right to say it)

The two most serious risks are blood clots and the aggrevation of hypertension, but those can be handled by placiing a prominent warning on the package.
I'd point out that taking tylenol at doseages that are still within the upper limit of permitted can cause liver failure in an alcoholic. Non-steroidals like Advil are a leading cause of ulcers.

Gotta have a driver's license to get this now (at least in Virginia and Pennsylvania, the two places I've bought it), and you can only get so much per month.

I support the consequences for him saying it.

I never said he shouldn't be allowed to speak. However, when I make a crack at Limbaugh, a) he's not some random college student, he's an intentionally inflammatory radio personality and b) I'm not saying it over the radio to a national audience.

They either cow-tow to people like Rush or they become possum Republicans who never ever speak out against the extremists or contradict them. When an uncomfortable subject is brought up by the extremists they just shake out of fear for a few seconds then roll over and play dead hoping the extremist base won't notice. They sure don't want to stick their heads out and speak out against the extremists because then they'll get primary challenges from the far right, the right wing media will label them "RINOs", and their political carriers will effectively be over. The Republican Party has been captured by the most extremist elements of the base even if you don't want to admit it.
