      Who's hating on Sting?

I hate everyone here's taste in music.

          Nothing is wrong with Sting.

I'm not very familiar with Sting/The Police but that music is better than all the crappy hippie music that the Monkees made posted in this thread.

And why bother finding about more when you have innocent ignorance of all issues to fall back on?

Eddie Murphy never sang a Monkees song in his movies. I'll bet that Roxanne is the only Sting song that Alby has heard, except the P. Diddy version of Every Breath You Take.

              ACK!

Nobody actually remembers My Mother The Car, they just like to mention it to bolster their retro cred.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

"My Mother The Car"? No...can't say as I do. Just read the Wiki article on it and it looks to be a couple of years before I really started watching TV. Also...it looks like even the people who were watching TV were watching something else!

Puffy apparently had a thing for Sting in the late 90's. He also remixed Roxanne (Sting is in the music video) featuring Praswell from The Fugees.

I also heard Desert Rose. That was a big song several years ago.

Yes, I remember a little of the pilot, the first 5 minutes, which was all I needed to watch.

You want retro cred? I remember the episode in which Little Rickie was born on I Love Lucy, I remember the first time Bud got into trouble with the law on Father Knows Best, I remember Sargeant Bilko, Make Room For Daddy, The Mitch Miller Show, Elvis' first appearence on Ed Sullivan. Heck, I even wore an "I Like Ike" button in '56.

Pretty impressive, Doc. I can match most of it, though 1960 is the first presidential race I remember.

Trying to edge back semi-on-topic: Did you see the I Dream of Jeannie episode that featured Boyce and Hart (as "the Boyce-Hart Group" IIRC) along with Phil Spector? In an early scene, as Jeannie is assembling her band (based on their looks; they are *not* musicians), the soundtrack had a delectably cheesy Farfisa organ rendition of "Last Train To Clarksville" and a copy of Headquarters is seen in the background.

The Monkees references are right at the beginning of this clip (no need to sit through all of it).

Wrong. I also remember "The Lieutenant" and "Johnny Yuma, the Rebel".

Some of their songs are on Youtube. They suck.
