The only thing I can think of to say that may encourage you is that most things get better with time, and at 35 you have a great deal of time. It seems to me that I've lived a lifetime since I was 35.

Maybe you should take this as a chance to renew yourself. What was it you always wanted to do as a child that you never got around to doing as an adult? Did you dream of writing a book or climbing a mountain? Usually most people have some little half remembered dream so maybe this is your chance for a new beginning where you can actually go out and accomplish that dream. On the upside it feels good to set goals and see them accomplished plus the work involved in achieving that goal/dream just might help keep your mind occupied at a time when you really need that.

Oh, and I'm 35 and not married though I do have a live in girlfriend so you've definitely advanced further down that path than I have. Break ups suck especially if when you've had a long history together and have formalized it and everything but I'd honestly say it's better you two don't have children if you're getting divorced other wise you'd be losing most of your money to child support. Heck it's not uncommon at all for men to date or marry women who are 5-10 years younger then they are so you aren't at the end of life by any stretch of the imagination and even though it might not look like it now in a few years you might see this as something which brought about positive change in your life.

For what this is worth, i was in rough shape once and a poster from Poly named Blake had a tremendous positive impact on me to this day (Introduced me to Buddhism.) It helps me deal with my illness above all other things, really, so thanks again to Blake for that.
