I agree. There's a tendency to syndrome-ize natural behaviors. Shyness turns into social anxiety, a kid being a kid turns into ADHD, etc.

At least they don't seem to give drugs for this ODD.

You're going to bring this up again? It's pretty clear that there is a distinct difference (both in practice and in the requirements for diagnosis given by the DSM-IV) between a kid who has a habit of talking back and a kid who is pathologically incapable of respecting authority figures.
