  • God hates Jesus?

A giant statue of Jesus built out of fiberglass and plastic was struck by lightening and destroyed yesterday. The statue was in front of a church in Ohio but the designers apparently didn't consider what would happen if it was struck by lightening. Since they're into superstition maybe they should consider God is trying to tell them something about cheap, tacky, plastic statues?

Sounds like an act of Thor or maybe Zeus. What do the insurers say?
There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.

Say, this is exactly like that other thread someone made when this happened over a year ago, except they provided pictures:

They've been rebuilding the statue for awhile now, presumably making it a bit more fire-resistant this time. I think they also redesigned it so it doesn't look like a football referee.

              Cite?

I looked to see if it was rebuilt and didn't find it.

Re football - According to wiki it is referred to as "Touchdown Jesus"

Right now they've just got the frame put up (this was about two or three months ago - I've moved since then and my commute doesn't take me by the proto-statue anymore)

OMG! You actually had to view that monstrosity on a regular basis?

                  My sympathies.

YES, At least we have proof that statues exist.

why are we talking about something that happened a year ago as if it's breaking news
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

Weird. Why did it show up on today's BBC video feed? What, do they recycle old articles or something?
