I read at something north of a thousand words a minute (depending on the material). It's pretty easy to get through a book in a couple of hours.12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

Errr... nevermind.
I was going to call BS on 16+ words per second but I noticed this:
Is 15 words (if you include a's and stuff). I used a stopwatch and yeah. Even with the presumed delay of stopping the stopwatch, it's ~1.5 seconds.I read at something north of a thousand words a minute (depending on the material).
I digest stuff better, though, if I pause every chapter (or few paragraphs, depending on what it is) and run it back in my head by acting like I'm explaining it to someone.Last edited by Al B. Sure!; January 2, 2012, 16:43."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

Going back to Al's (in his mind, witty) response to me, one wonders: don't you want a convert to read all he can about his faith? Would you rather someone like Kid who doesn't care what anyone else has said about his new found faith?“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

So most of you reading in the past year has been the brilliant insights of people like Kidicious and Heraclitus and Ben Kenobi?Originally posted by Al B. Sure! Is it bad that I didn't read any books in 2011? I read forums...

I understand he happens to an atheist who really likes Islam (which is strange in and of itself), but aside from wackos like Dawkins and (sorry) Hitchens, most atheists prefer their Christians to be those who think through their faith and don't respond in reactionary fundamentalist ways to the issues of present society.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. It seems that Albie's atheism is the "I hate religion and that's why I'm an atheist" variety which is common among new "converts," and so he prefers that all Christians be easy to hateOriginally posted by Imran Siddiqui View PostI understand he happens to an atheist who really likes Islam (which is strange in and of itself), but aside from wackos like Dawkins and (sorry) Hitchens, most atheists prefer their Christians to be those who think through their faith and don't respond in reactionary fundamentalist ways to the issues of present society.<p style="font-size:1024px">HTML is disabled in signatures

Hey Imran, you can go down to Georgia, go native, go Christian, become a Southern apologist, assume southern mannerisms, marry a white girl, and try your damnedest to be a good ole boy but you'll never be one of them."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi
