    Somebody please explain to me why the GOP still keeps obsessing over gays in the military

    Jesus ****ing christ. Rick Perry's new ad:
    "I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a Christian, but you don't need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there's something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can't openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school. As President, I'll end Obama's war on religion. And I'll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage. Faith made America strong. It can make her strong again."
    GAAAAG. What the **** is with their obsession? Why the **** do Americans keep conflating politics with religion? What the **** is wrong with America and how the **** does one even start fixing it?
    "The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
    Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "

      What does it have to do with you? You're neither American nor wanting to join the U.S. military. Not trying to be confrontational, I'm just curious.

        I have many friends in America and people there I care for. To see a frontrunner of the American Presidential campaign essentially run on a platform of theocracy is amazing to me.

        I also know at least two gay men currently serving in the US military, and one former gay Apolytoner who also served in the US military.

                  Are those historically accurate? I've never seen 1st century Roman soldiers portrayed in that manner. Where's the segmentata armor and gallic helmet?
