Yes. I think raising your taxes is the greatest evil imaginable.

Probably because you hilariously quit your job and took a lower-paying one

Not true. I was making more in the latter job. I posted my tax return information in a thread because Asher asked for it and it showed that I paid less when I made more.

I voted for Republicans and Democrats in 2000.

I dislike both parties, I usually end up voting Democrat though because the Republicans going for election are crazy.

Despite Ron Paul being crazy, I might vote for him as a 'change'.

I would probably vote for Gary Johnson.

Level of Government makes a huge difference. Local and State, I will now generally vote Democrat. Federal will now usually be Republican.

Let me guess--you don't like that Scott Walker and the Wisconsin GOP took away your collective bargaining?

By the way, it was largely the immigration issue that motivated me to vote for several democrats in the recent state & local elections. Most of these issues are state-level, hence my slightly less partisan ticket at lower levels of government.

Not much. Used to be though, very much "straight down the line" Republican - then again a New Jersey Republican is a far different animal than a national Republican (Governor Christie would likely be a Democrat down here in Georgia).

                      Ditto.

                      Being highly partisan is retarded.

Both political parties are dead to me. Honest discourse, actual compromise, and developing insightful solutions to complex problems simply don't happen. The US political process has devolved into an endless parade of pandering soundbites and corporate-driven legislation that is much more about economics and empire-building than it is service to "we the people." And with the advent of corporate personhood, it can only get worse.

Since virtually all national politicians are corrupt, the only logical solution is to vote whoever is in office, out of office. That's been my go-to decision driver in voting for many years now. Locally, I manage to remain issue-driven. Or at least I try. But even at that level, a healthy dose of cynicism and distrust is imho called for.
