The BBC is reporting that many working class white areas of the UK are feeling alienated and upset about immigration. They're upset at the high unemployment rate and low wages when they can find jobs, fear immigrants are taking jobs or driving down wages, and they feel immigrant groups are getting extra help which they're not getting. I'm not sure if any of those claims are true in reality but that seems to be how some folks are feeling. At least they're not supporting the BNP yet.

I think the anti-hate laws in the UK are a bit odd. Call someone a "gay black muslim", and you can be arrested for three different hate crimes - even if they are neither gay, black nor muslim. Call someone a "Nigerian thieving bastard" and you won't be arrested for one, and can defend your stance under the human rights act.

I am torn, on the one hand I think she has the right to air her repugnant views, but on the other hand I don't necessarily think that angrily shouting them, including lots of swearing on public transport with the seeming intent to deliberately provoke anger and potentially violence, is something we should allow. It's a tricky one.

There is a bit of the "shout fire in a theatre" about it I think.

well, we don't know all the facts, it's hard to tell from the video exactly what happened, perhaps an argument started and she set off on a rant in response to some provocation. i'm not sure she's inciting violence either, she's just being stupid and offensive. i agree with dauphin that an appropriate response would have been to remove her from the tram. making it a criminal matter is counter productive.

That's because whites are genetically unable to compete in a multi-cultural environment. Keep them isolated and they're fine, believing they are the kings of the world. Mix them in with other races and they fall apart. This is all genetics. Blacks are the opposite and thrive in multi-cultural environment. Asians, however, are the superior race in both environment. And if you call me a racist, I'll just say its genetics and point to a series of racist blog posts to support my asinine theory. Can we get a study on this that the more white people a Black male is around in their first twenty years, the longer they'll live, the less likely they'll get arrested, and the higher their educational attainment and income?
