I've never tried the mechanical keyboard, but then again I'm a stickler for tradition. My keyboard still runs on horse power."You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

I've received my 2 Unicomp keyboards today. The clicking is awesome, but might drive my coworkers mad. What might drive ME mad, though, is the fact that no laser etching service so far is willing to etch all 104 keys (they usually etch only Russian letters). I guess I'll just have to continue touch typing. At least no one can use my PCs now in my absence.Graffiti in a public toilet

If you guys are nerding out on mechanical keyboards, you should be aware of the steampunk work of the late Richard Nagy, a.k.a. Datamancer:
These are all mechanical keyboards, but executed as (gasp!) works of art, not just utilitarian alternatives. IMHO, some pretty damn cool stuff...

Those keyboards look awesome -Jrabbit.
A quick look around had the cheapest one at ~C$500. A little out of my price range for a keyboard.Libraries are state sanctioned, so they're technically engaged in privateering. - Felch
I thought we're trying to have a serious discussion? It says serious in the thread title!- Al. B. Sure
