I figured this thread would be about old-fashioned typewriters.

I was thinking the same thing. And then wondered why anyone would want to use one these days.

I honestly expect this to remain a niche product with niche appeal and in the big scheme of things to have even less lasting effect than Lotharingia did.

I have one of those old keyboards at home but I can't find an adapter for the old plugs.

My mom used to have one. But I learned to type on Apple IIs, Tandys, IBMs, and NECs.

I bought a unicomp keyboard. Its not sexy, but its basically a IBM Model M keyboard (they bought the license from IBM, IIRC) So it was really nice to type on, while it with was still working... Sometimes, it just stops working. After I restart my computer, it works again... And now I'm back with my huge ass Microsoft ergonomic keyboard 4000

I think my dad had one of those on his PC back in the late 80's plus I remember the C64 (which I was using at the time) also had such a keyboard. It wasn't until the early to mid 90's that everyone switched over to those bubble keyboards and I can remember my neighbor's dad talking to my dad that the keys on the bubble keyboards felt "mush and you don't get that satisfying click when you push a key".

I was also a C64 user and i used to like to rearrange the keys on my friend's new bubble keyboard when he wasn't lookin' for lulz.

I've written to Unicomp asking if they could sell me a keyboard and a bunch of black key caps so I could etch them with Russian/English letters myself, and they won't reply. Asher, have you tried both buckling spring and Cherry MX switches? Are they comparable?

Haven't had a buckling spring one for many, many years.

You can get lots of keyboards (including the one I got) with nothing on the caps.
