  • On average, how many hours are in your work week?

Inspired by the thread where people talk about how many hours are in their work week.

If you have more than one job then include the hours from both / all of them, unless you consider the job to be charity (e.g. if you make a pittance as a tutor or whatever).

(x, y] means "greater than x, less than or equal to y"

40 hours. Anything more is not allowed by our contract. Sometimes slightly less if I get sick or something.

With my goofy rotating work week schedule, it varies from as low as 35 to as much as 48. Then there's that OT always comes. On average it works out to be about 40-50 hours a week.

I did not include any time I put in helping my father as a farmer. I don't get paid, I just do it out of family obligation.
I have more issues than Marvel Comics and more problems than a math text book.

Oh. should we count time spent at work on Poly?

I'm a student, but during the summer I usually work 40 hours a week, but it usually becomes about 35 in the aggregate since I take days off here and there to spend time with friends.

I am at work, or trying to work from home almost my entire waking hours for 6 days a week.

I do have apolyton time, break time, lunch time, girlfriend chatting time, surf the web time, and workout time though.

I figure my actual working hours are in the neighborhood of 60, occasionally going as high as 80 or as low as 40.

Jon, where do you work and what do you do? Simply out of curiosity.

I come in before 0700 nearly every day, leave after 1700 nearly every day, sometimes pop in on weekends on check up on things or clean up leftover work, and then there's the comapany supplied cell phone that is always on, tethering me to my plant 24 hours a day.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Jon has a ridiculous amount of free time for a postdoc.
