We are getting away from the subject of police brutality and getting into rights of workers.
When it comes down to it. Police are working class. I do not believe in the concept of benevolent employers. I believe employers will do what ever they can get away with. So unions allow employees to have a voice and some amount of power. It kills me how republicans have been able to convince working class people to act against their best interests.

Don't get me wrong unions can be bad. Look at the prison gaurd unions in California. But we're talking public order and safety here. Anyone against every and all unions is a complete fool.

The employer doesn't have to be benevolent for it to be a fair deal. If you think it's unfair you should see if anyone else pays higher. If they don't then you just think you're worth more than you are. On the flipside, if an employer doesn't pay enough they face serious consequences. An employer without employees is just a bunch of paperwork.

FDR is not Jesus Christ and this is not the 30/40s'. Unions came to power specifically as a result of the employers abuse of power over the employee. If you don't like unions then let's get rid of them. Let's get rid of corporations having the power to lobby the government on their behalf. Let's make the GOVERNMENT responsible for protecting the workers/people then we would not need unions. But while the corporations exercise unfair power we the people must have some power or we become slaves.
