  • Good movie "The Guard"

Very good. My only complaint is the lack of subtitles. Irish are hard to understand.

    Awesome movie!!!

You ****ing Yanks have to subtitle everything - it's all perfectly easy to understand...

Bull****. I've seen the BBC subtitle black and southern Americans who to my ear are perfectly understandable.

While I understand the Irish accent more than some, it's a question of what you're accustomed to.

moby, you're one of the worst example of British chauvinism around...

Speaking of which, Googling "bbc subtitle black people" returns this as the top result:

A month ago, six African-American teenagers drowned in a single incident in Louisiana, prompting soul-searching about why so many young black Americans can't swim.

70% of African-American children...... 58% of Hispanic children had no or low swimming ability.

WTF!? Doesn't mention anything about subtitling in that story - just that Americans are criminally incapable of swimming to the extent that swimming pools are more deadly to children in the US than guns...

But yeah, you are right, the BBC subtitles everything so when there's a dumb yank visiting the country, they can switch the subtitles on to understand what's going on.

I know the story doesn't mention subtitling; I'm just pointing out that the title of the story relates directly to a quote in the trailer dfg posted.

So ****ing what? Your entire argument appears to be entertainingly based on smoke and mirrors...

What argument, moby? I wasn't presenting the article as evidence of the BBC's subtitling, but as an amusing side note.

I can't be held responsible for your classic British illiteracy...

Exactly, I'm merely pointing out your tactics by not taking your bait: You provide no evidence for your claim and then seek to distract by changing the subject.

They really can't. It's ****ing sad.
