And everyone, again, chill the **** out. The current Egyptian regime acted swiftly to defend the diplomatic staff, as they should have, in complete cooperation with Israel. This is, of course, the aftermath of the Sinai attack, where it seems that some Egyptian troops were involved in. The current powers begin to realize what a mess they have on the streets and in their outlying Sinai territory.
It will be interesting to see how "chill" everything is after the Egyptian elections. Or the next time Egypt is used as a base for terrorist attacks.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier
Yeah, this ain't the Egyptian government, just reactionary rebels and rioters.
You mean the facebook kids? Those guys who started the revolution? Or the friendly Islamists who will bring about democracy?
Everyone but the military and the vestige of the old regime is a reactionary rebel and rioter by this definition because everyone else in Egypt from facebook kids to Islamists is quite happy to see it happen.

The military in Egypt is smart enough to know that it has everything to lose and nothing to gain from conflict with Israel. The Egyptian people, however, don't seem to care so much how it turns out for them. If the new government actually represents the will of the Egyptian people, I don't see peace lasting long.
If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers? ){ :|:& };:
Non-related: Hung around bucharest tonight, met a middle-aged Syrian refugee, that escaped from the fighting, gave him some 20 Lei to get some food. Had a nice chat, he bummed a couple of smokes from me. Good times.
Yeah, the Egyptian people are all stupid monkeys who need to have a privileged American college freshman tell them what's best for them.

There's nothing bull**** about it. Life experience and sheltered backgrounds lead a lot of people to have a lot of opinions that may not be very well-informed or empathetic with the other side.
