At least Spain didn't cook the books.

the ´news´ that greece might default this weekend has hit hard. italy, and spain are next in line for such major trouble.

it´s our own fault for allowing countries that cooked the books (not spain, the other two did though) to enter the euro. the politicians in brussels even knew it. they just accepted it as they hoped for the better.

The Pyrenees, the Alps and the Balkans.

It just confirms my theory that everything south of those three is Africa.

You're not helping budge that old stereotype about American awareness of geography, you realise?

Blonde highlights from the hairdresser don't count.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Not quite true. The regions are hiding obligations.
