If you're really, really desperate to buy German, the one I'd choose is the VW Scirocco. It fits neatly inside your budget.

Now that's the king of thing Laz...you're getting the idea of the kind of thing I am after. Actually I might see what kind of Mercs I can get for the money, in all seriousness.

A Gwiz...wow I'm sold She didn't put her seatbelt on because she was afraid of "crumpling her clothes". Stupid f**king b*tch. Sorry, but that's pretty stupid.

If you need a cheap good car, get a Ford Focus. Or a Korean car.

DO NOT mention you are paying in cash until you have at least a hand shake deal (preferably a written deal). Most dealerships (at least in NA) make a lot of their profit financing loans. BION, they would really rather you not pay cash, just a big deposit, and then a few years of of high interest payments. If they know off the top you're paying cash, they will add a couple of points to make up for their potential financing loss.

Yeah, I'm not paying some prohibitive interest rate when I have the money to lay out. And being recently self-employed they are going to hit me with some stupid interest rate or decline anyway.

Unless of course, it is interest-free with a large enough deposit. Rather the money in my account than theirs

Hang on, a practical vehicle for what purpose? Most of my driving time is spent on a motorway...what possible use would a top-heavy 4x4 be for me?

The guy down the block has a 1971 Triumph TR6 for sale asking $16,000. It's appears to be in really good shape but that still seems a bit high for a Triumph.
