            I like Analog, use to read it.

            Not as regularly as some though.

            It was a common route for authors to get out there, even in the 90s.

            When I was a freshman, one of the seniors had gotten her story published there. She got paid $2000 for it, I believe.

                  I feel like they used to pay more, but I don't have any concrete evidence of such (and it may well just be inflation-adjusted more). $0.06 per word just doesn't go all that far anymore...

                    The key is to already have been published. Then you don't make the base rate. But of course, the key to getting published is also to have already been published.
