I eat in the office canteen. Today I had a chicken cordon bleu with potatoes gratine, a quark pudding with apricot jam and a glass of lemonade.Graffiti in a public toilet

I'm thinking today could be an In N Out Burger day for me as posting about burgers in the dinner thread has put them in my mind. A 3x3 (three meats & 3 slices of cheese), animal style (the patties are "mustard grilled; meaning they squart on some mustard before flipping it so the mustard cooks into the patty giving it a unique flavor. They then grill onions cooked in the burger juices and finally top it with extra spread sauce [essentially thousand island]), with chopped chilies to give it a kick while I order the fries well done (to make them crisper) also topped animal style, with a root beer float for a drink. It's an American classic.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Coincidentally I happened to cook dinner last night because we were home and the girlfriend was otherwise occupied. (Most nights neither of us cooks dinner.) Penne pasta, chopped up sausage, and some vodka sauce thing. It wasn't awful. It was probably one of the more trying nights of my life.Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.

I have cooked before. I'm not quite as stupid as I present myself. It's just that I do it so rarely that I've forgotten everything about it by the next time I do it.
But I really can't smell (or taste) a damn thing.Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.

Lunch at the newly opened Potted Pig in the shadow of the castle was:
Devilled chicken livers
White pollock on a bed of samphire and cockles. White wine was involved somewhere too.
Truly delicious! Also virtually all food is locally sourced and with proper provenance.
I also noted with interest that the place turns itself into a gin den in the evenings, with at least 30 to choose from on the menu. I shall be returning!
