I got my 3x3 animal style with chopped chilies at In N Out, a side order of fries well done, and a root beer float.

Come on, my good man. It's hard to screw up pasta as long as you can boil water and remember to strain it when the timer goes off. Open jar of sauce, dump it on, and serve.

Sure, it's not gourmet but even drunk & befuddled 18 year old college kids manage it.

Truly delicious! Also virtually all food is locally sourced and with proper provenance.

I also noted with interest that the place turns itself into a gin den in the evenings, with at least 30 to choose from on the menu. I shall be returning!

Mobius keeps coming up with interesting stuff I have to google to figure out what they are. In this round it was "samphire" ("an edible plant growing in coastal areas of northern Europe") and "bara brith ("a speckled bread of Welsh origin"). They do sound interesting just because they're something unique and different.

A jar of sauce? You're supposed to make it yourself.

Ah well, in which case this lunchtime at Garland's, we had Cawl Mamgu and their house speciality of 'Bloody Welsh Rarebit', which is a standard Welsh rarebit with bacon and black pudding under the cheese...
