  • Thread in which pro-lifers explain why they're not hypocrits for being anti-universal healthcare

    This should be good.

Because PPACA will make the situation worse, not better?

Because universal healthcare is really just rationing such that everyone gets lower quality care to ensure that no one gets better care than anyone else?

That's really all there is to it.
If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

And your assertion is the flood of millions of additional foster kids will make the situation better. Is that right?

Universal healthcare just means everyone gets healthcare, not necessarily that some people can't get better care than others.

And if the quality of care is lower, I guess that explains why almost every country with universal healthcare has a higher life expectancy than the US.

Thank you for demonstrating what I was expecting.

PS: I would like you to discuss how any care could possibly be lower than no care at all.

Abortion isn't really care for the child. It's pretty much less than your stated no care.

It should be quite clear that more abortions raise the standard of care. Amiright? Amiright? Far less people in line.

The US' lower life expectancy and higher mortality from things such as cancers is pretty much proven to be because the lack of access to preventative care. Health care costs get far lower when you catch things earlier. The reason universal health care systems are far more cost effective is because they put a lot of emphasis on preventative care.

Every Canadian has free and unlimited access to their family doctor. I've had mine for all of my life. He even delivered me. I get regular physicals and consultations. If I think something is weird, I go and see him and get it checked out. This kind of basic care is relatively cheap, but universal access to it is proven to raise the quality of life and life expectancy of people.

Middle-class and higher Americans get this care. Lower class Americans do not. That's not right.

Did your mother have any abortions? No? Are they in favor of abortion? It's people like that, and I'm not saying they're like that, that are the hypocrites.
You won't ever have to be a part of an abortion decision, so don't you think it's a little unseemly for you to start an argument?

So you are anti child circumcision, then?

                  And also against contraceptives?

but you guys are better at reducing environmental poisons (dont know about diet), we're awash in ****

I just found out they've linked aspartame (common artificial sweetener) to...get this... diabetes. Yup. Avoid that dastardly sugar and use this sweetener so you dont get diabetes, and the stuff apparently damages the pancreas early on in mice as they're developing diabetes.

I support universal health care, but I think it should be based on a simple market principle. Give everybody a few thousand dollars a year to spend on medical needs, let a percentage of unspent money roll over, and allow them to pay for doctors or whatever they need with that.

That way you provide a basic level of care to everybody, while encouraging them to get the best deals and not squander the money in their accounts. And the super rich would still be able to go to Mayo and get the best care in the world.
                              John Brown did nothing wrong.
