I think the idea that Israel has a right to defend itself doesn't preclude the notion that Palestinian lives have value, and now you're being antagonistic if you weren't from the start. If you cut out people who've moved in from other parts of the country, whites in the deep south vote Republican nearly as much as blacks vote Democrat.

The bulk of the South has always has always (except during transition periods) tended to have pretty uncompetitive elections with one party being vastly dominant. The same goes for people from the South of both races, they just support different parties.
