The Republican party today is not the same Republican party it was during the Civil War. Political parties can be dynamic, and change over the course of time.
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

I haven't even gotten to the covert racism of Republican positions on crime and the drug war...

Wait. Ignoring the ridiculousness that support for Israel is racist, have you not noticed how completely and thoroughly support for Israel crosses party lines?

Your arguments have more holes in them than gerrymandered black districts. Dumbass.

There's nothing racist about the GOP position on the issue.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

You're right, the most racist faction of the Democratic party also supports racist policies.

There is an actual faction of the Democratic party that thinks Palestinian lives have positive moral value. The only prominent Republican who does is Ron Paul.

Gerrymandered black districts frequently don't require any special shapes. Metaphor fail.

I think the idea that Israel has a right to defend itself doesn't preclude the notion that Palestinian lives have value, and now you're being antagonistic if you weren't from the start. The fact is that the moment you start blathering "racism" you've lost all rhetorical credibility. You're going to have to find a less ridiculous label for a political movement that comprises around half of the electorate.

This is true. You personally value them at something like a 1:10 exchange rate, if I recall correctly.

                          1) So you're saying my argument just sounds bad, it isn't actually wrong?

                          2) It is a perfectly reasonable answer to "why don't blacks vote for Republicans".

Wait, you think it's implausible that half of the electorate hold explicitly racist political beliefs?

                            Wait, really?

                            You're making this too easy.

Okay, I'm done discussing this with you. You're much happier trading astoundingly obnoxious--and ridiculous--jabs than making serious arguments.

I made my arguments. You haven't managed to address them yet.
