I've never been much of a gin drinker but on my girlfriend's suggestion I bought a bottle of Junipero Gin from San Francisco. It is hands down the best gin I've ever tasted in my, admittedly limited, gin tasting experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a martini or other gin based mixed drink.

On a different note it is good to see so many micro breweries here in California branching out into making distilled spirits. I understand it is a difficult process due to American Federal regulations on distillers but it's a great way for local companies to expand their businesses while offering consumers more choices. My one hope is they relax federal regulations in this area a bit so that even more local companies can expand their businesses into this sector thus improving the local economy as well as the options on drink menus for tipplers. After all the liquor industry has been as over consolidated as the beer industry was before micro brews broke out in 1979 when President Carter pushed to have brewing regulations relaxed and that resulted in an explosion of new tastes & options for beer drinkers just as it has created over a million new jobs and tens of thousands of new businesses across the country.

Tonight after work, I had a few lagers - someone else was buying so I was drinking Labatt's Blue. Last night, I has a variety of drinks - it as a show opening night.

And Scotch drinkers - buy a bottle of Highland Park 12 yrs. - you won't regret it!

98% of my drinking is Pepsi Max and water. Of the alcoholic beverages, it's mostly wine for me.
