    • I was looking at the picture of the master bath again and isn't it a little weird to have two windows right next to the bath tub? I mean doesn't that risk the neighbors getting flashed every time someone uses the bath tub?

      • Week 23

Week 23: Master bath complete, great room's fireplace stone installed. Almost done. Only thing missing are appliances, which are coming Wednesday. And exterior stone, which will be done in the Spring when it's warmer. We do our final walk-through on Thursday.

We are fortunate in Canada to have a technology called "blinds". This technology, while difficult to understand in concept, is simple in practicum. Indeed, this technology is installed in the windows near the tub.

Further, we're at a higher elevation than all of the houses behind us by a good degree. The angle they are viewing, all they'd be able to see are our heads. For the other window facing the house next to us, they actually will have no 2nd floor windows at that end of the house facing our house.

I love the windows because when you sit in the tub and look out, you're actually looking out towards the city from the hill view. You can see for miles. It'll look especially pretty in the winter with snow falling.

            • Just admit it. You're going to be making butt prints on the window when ever the nosy neighbor walks by and you know it.

Asher why didn't you go with 3 Sharps? Are the smaller sized Sharps with worse PQ than the Samsungs?

Also do you intend to use any of these TVs as a computer monitor for gaming. Playing Skyrim on the 70" will be really something...

For the one in the great room I wanted a really thin bezel, something that looked more like art than a TV since it'll go above the fireplace. Sharp had thicker bezels.

The one I put in the bedroom (the 46") could've been any brand...but from my research the Samsung was the highest rated, and they were all priced the same.

And I'm not planning on using any of them for PC gaming...but I imagine the next-gen game consoles will look spectacular on it.

                          • Pre-Occupancy Walkthrough

Kitchen appliances delivered and installed. Really, really impressed with the walk-through. The warranty coordinator gave it, and the construction super was there as well as a handyman. They were very much "on our side" -- they were even more picky about minor imperfections than we were, noting down everything and promising to have it fixed or replaced by the Jan 6th possession.

Cabinet door is missing because there was a little scratch in it...it's being replaced.

                            • So I moved in a week ago. Mostly settled in now. Obviously missing decor/art, and some furniture (lamps, etc) are left over from the condo days. Also missing end tables, coffee tables, etc. To come later.
