With taxes, house, etc the total is north of $500,000.

Honest people will never earn enough to buy a plot near Moscow. Ours is my late grandfather-in-law's Soviet legacy.
300K+ for a plasticard house is a ****ing lot. I could build a real house made of brick for this amount. Don't you have Mexican builders in Canada?

The equivalent are Chinese builders. And yes, we do. They'll charge you the same but the house will fall apart in no time.

If you think the house prices in Calgary are high, you should try Vancouver...

This would've been our pick in the other neighbourhood.

The kitchen looks sooooo much better with the darker cabinets. I hope you go with something like that.

Really? I really don't like the dark cabinets -- they're depressing...

I think they're classy and offset the general whiteness of the decor nicely. There's enough brightness from the wall paint and lighting to offset the dark cabinets from making it too heavy. Balancing light and dark is key.

I can sort of see how the dark cabinets can look nice...but I'm worried about them because I've seen the same house layout I've done in darker colours and I think it looks awful.

Those pics have a dark floor and trim. The ones in the link were with a lighter floor wood and the white trim. The latter overdoes the dark as much as the earlier pics with the white cabinets overdoes the white.

The pictures on their website are overexposed and make it look whiter than it actually is.
