Alby doesn't seem to understand that some people a) have families and b) have friends. Maybe that's why he thinks that wanting a larger house to accommodate those two things is "conspicuous consumption".

... The master bath, an extra upstairs for either overnight guests or if one of the 2 residents needs to use the bathroom at the same time as the other (assuming the toilet in the master bath isn't sequestered), and a 1/2 bath downstairs for guests while entertaining...
This raises a good point. Sequester your toilets from your bathrooms. Not only is the bathroom not usable while someone is doing their business, but it could be unusable for some time after too.
