    They make decisions when called upon by circumstances. When those circumstances arise they have legal advice and the advice of the premier/prime minister.

      One of the benefits of having an hereditary monarch instead of an elected President is that we don't have any monarch election controversies such as recounting Florida chads or dead Chicagoans voting.

          So our last governor generals blocking of elections, was not politically motivated?

            She made the decision based on advice. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is among her advisors.
