Actually, the artist went ahead and told the show's makers exactly how she was planning to end everything. They said, "eh, we'll do something totally different instead" and she said OK. The end result was rather underwhelming by comparison, true.

EDIT: Okay, done with ASOIAF until GRRM finally publishes the next one. Unless he dies of old age first, which is a distinct possibility.

      • After watching last night's episode, here's my thoughts.

-Ser Alliser Thorne, is still an incredible jack ass. I hope a white walker eats his face and reanimates him.

-This is the story of a plucky hero (Littlefinger), who's using his wits to overcome adversity. If there is any justice, this champion of the common man will triumph in the end.

-Cersei being taken into custody by the high sparrow was the most enjoyable scene since Joffery's death.

-I hope by finally injecting Tyrion into Daenerys storyline, it will liven up and I will start to give a damn.

        EDIT:

-Bronn(Jerome Flynn) is a surprisingly good singer

          • Back on form with Episode 7. Great shift of hubris to nemesis for Cersei, and the sexual tension in that Dornish cell was classic.

              • They somehow made Cersei even dumber than in AFfC. Wow.

                • Did y'all see the casting news for season six? No actual names, but it is clear that at least the following characters are showing up, with significant parts:

                  Spoiler:
Euron or Victarion (or more likely, a combination of the two)
                  Randyll Tarly (and family)
Septon Maribald or the Elder Brother of Quiet Isle (or more likely, a combination of the two)

That last one, in particular, has me giddy.

                  Spoiler:
                  CleganeBowl is happening.

                    • Conservation of characters, man. I should say it is just my interpretation of what they are going to do; I've been wrong before.

For instance, I thought they were going to ignore that storyline altogether.

                      • Season 6 won't air until April 2016 so if GRRM gets the manuscript finished by Nov-Dec 2015 they could publish it and have it on shelves by Feb-Mar of 2016 and beat the season 6 air date.

                        I am still hopeful.

So here is a good link with speculation:

I am interested in the young Ned, young Robert, and young Brandon flashback speculation. Wonder if we'll run into young Cat and young Littlefinger as well in those. The Septon Meribald also seems to indicate that Brienne retreats to the Riverlands for some reason - in the books that's where she was, but in the show she's up North. Tarly's = Oldtown and it'd be fun to see that location in the show

                                Spoiler:
Apparently Kevan Lannister named Lord Tarly to Tommen's Small Council, as Master of Laws, after the Walk of Shame. The family could be there as part of the King's Landing crew.
