The problem with Dresden Files was that they delayed production for quite awhile and Blackthorne got both impatient and more expensive. Plus, he had other gigs.
I loved the production design of the TV show, though it was problematic for people (like Ming) who had read the books, who had to adjust expectations on the form of the ghost, the physical look of multiple characters, etc. But given the limitation of a weekly cable show, I though they made a lot of smart decisions that carried forward the spirit (heh) of the books in an entertaining fashion.
I still go back and re-watch them from time to time...
As a network, I swear that the name change actually signified the end of their focus on science fiction. They haven't done anything interesting since.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Yeah, Bob was the biggest issue. But the show was entertaining even if it didn't meet my expectations after reading every book.It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple
