    such as John Legend

American politics are so screwy, I'm going to call them 'Politainment'. This article really felt it worthwhile to mention what a singer thinks? No disrespect to John Legend but a SINGER?

Essentially saying the same thing that I said. Just prove it and move on, but Obama prefers to be a distraction.

i meant a presidential election. what you say about the new congressmen is the point i'm making, they are dragging the republicans to the right and making them pander to that constituency more and more, which in turn will move american politics in general further to the right (hard to imagine i know).

Actually, they're dragging the republicans and everyone else to the right. They've managed to shift the debate from whether to cut spending to how much spending should be cut, and they've brought the public along with it. That's a monumental achievement, when you think about it. They might not get everything they want, and they might not get the public to agree with them, but they've moved everyone in their direction.

Right. Because government intervention in China has worked really well there.

Yes, it has. Do you really have no clue about China?

I suppose it brought them slightly out of the dark ages, though not fully, albeit at the expense of millions of lives. Those trying to be diplomatic would probably describe that as a "mixed legacy".

Alright. You don't know anything about China. Understood. I'm surprised you are talking about it with so little knowledge. You're sounding a lot like DFG right now. So why don't you tell us what you think brought them out of the "dark ages."

                            ???

The reduction in government interventionism appears to me to be what has allowed the massive increase in wealth of the Chinese over the last 30 years.

Only those companies that the government has intervened in remain competitive national and globally in China.
