time of French as anything "international" is gone, Chinese, Spanish and German is where it's at.

How is German at all relevant?

      Arabic?

In the EU its very relevant as a language of business. Don't you know the Krauts have a pretty big economy (+Austria and Swizerland) actually the last ones in Europe with a properly working economy. They are also big players in the EU, so any bureaucratic goobledook speak needs to be not only in English but in French and German too, this is only more true now that they have collected IOUs from half of Europe.
Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.

            Total Speakers:
            German: 200M
            Arabic: 450M across several countries

Besides, all the Germans know English nowadays so what's the point of learning THEIR language?

            Knowledge of English:

Yeah the Germans have took it upon themselves to learn English so who cares about German?

Arabic? Are you for real? None of those countries are industrial powers that you would need to deal with, unless you were dealing with oil.

By your logic, you should be brushing up on your Spanish then

I learned Spanish in school. I can read the most basic Spanish but can't understand it spoken.

And the Spanish-speaking world has what exactly that is relevant?

The Spanish speaking world has a very large market, Mexico, Argentina and Venezuela combined have a larger economy than the whole Arab world (by Arab world I mean the Maghreb States, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and the other small Arabian States)

But by far the most important Latin American country is Brazil, no Spanish speaking but with a very high degree of mutual intelligibility, which has a huge industrial base in Sao Paulo. They are one of the 8 biggest economies in the world, and they are moving fast towards the top 5 or 6 (the difference with Italy and the UK ain't that big)

It's Mexico that is huge and dwarfs the others. The other Spanish Latin American countries are in the same ballpark as the Arab countries.

                            Let's look at the facts:

                            - 80% of all online sales start with a search engine
                            - Search engines rely heavily on backlinks to determine which results to display
                            - A single xRumer blast can create 10's of thousands of backlinks within minutes

Bot SPAM... it's the new language of business.

                                BOT SPAM uses English.

The British Empire spread the English language.
