Why do Christians care so much about the Ten Commandments?

I'm really curious about why Christians devote so much attention to the Ten Commandments. I'm looking for a theological explanation. The fact that they are lashing out at me without even being able to offer an explanation is telling.

Seriously, though, what's with the Trinity? And for the Catholics, what's with the veneration of Mary and the Saints? You pray to Mary and the Saints to relay the message to Jesus who relays it to (but also is) God?

What kind of convoluted mess is that? Why can't you pray directly to God and get rid of all the pagan nonsense?

No the whole Catholic pantheon is pseudo-polytheistic not to mention the Holy Trinity is also pseudo-polytheistic plus God having a child with a woman and that demi-god being God as well. It's so weird.

If the apocalypse happens tomorrow, my bet is on the Muslims being right and Jesus comes down wearing a taqiyah saying you Christians got it all wrong. They make far more sense and are more consistent than the mess that is Christian dogma.

Catholics adopt all of the forms of idol worship while insisting it isn't. It's kind of like how they consume something that is, in every perceptible way, exactly like bread while insisting it's really the flesh of their savior.

It was instituted at the Last Supper. Bread and wine was used. You don't think they ran Christ through and roasted him, do you?

Catholics believe in transubstant-whatever though. The priest actually turns the bread and wine into the flesh and blood of Christ. It's why not anyone can just at any time be a priest in Catholicism.

Protestants don't just wave in ministers. Besides a college degree, you have to be able to recite the 10 Commandments backwards while alternatively touching your nose with a fingertip while walking a straight line.
