Android is cruising well past iOS in marketshare. It's inevitable the same happens for apps. Just as Windows has far more apps than Mac.
The fact that Apple squeezes devs for money and has ridiculous, arbitrary and ever-changing restrictions is just expediting the process. What is the case now will not be the case one year from now.
Apple took an innovative, ground-breaking, market-leading product in the Macintosh and practiced the same business model now (not even to the same degree!) and lost the market to the PC. They're repeating the exact same mistakes now. To be honest, they probably don't care as long as they find millions of people dumb enough to part with their money for Apple products.
