I dont even like using a credit card on the internet so it would be nice if buying the device came with a subscription etc
it isn't a hassle to DL music (plug in the nano to your computer, download the music from itunes, it should automatically sync) but if you download songs from itunes you will pay for it. I just drop mixes i download from various sites into the itunes library folder and it syncs automatically.

Itunes also has some werid DRM stuff, digital rights managment, so dont' expect to play wma's without converting them (though automatically) to protected aac's.

The sansa fuze has a feature where you can tell them what kind of music you like and a professional dj hired by them will send y ou a disk to plug into it loaded with it, Note: sansa fuze is the only mp3 player that allows storage expansion via sdcards. So if you run out of space, you can add a larger card that you can buy almost any electronics store locally.

Yeah, that part is kinda crappy. I really only got the nano because of it's size and form factor. my other mp3 player is an ancient creative zen touch.

the ipod touch, is a beautiful and fantastic device if you can utilize it fully, but itunes is a pain.

I like that nano device, but it may be problematic dealing with apple

sure beats the days of sony walkman

My buddy's zune has 32 gb (?) with over 900 songs, that'll do me just fine

but I love my sennheiser headphones and I doubt these little (battery powered?) devices can take advantage of them. Instead I'll be stuck with those little ear plugs

you could get an a adapter, radioshack or the like (online is cheaper, tho most of it came from asia so dunno right now if you'll get it fast enough).

Berz, to get your favorite music onto any mp3 player, all you have to do is slot your personal CDs into your comp and rip the discs onto the machine. (Vinyl is more problematic, being analog and all.) Then it's just drag-and-drop via USB connection to the player. Most programs (like iTunes) let you put together playlists and such so you hear what you want.

I've had a nano for a couple years now, and very few of the tunes on it are internet downloads. Most of it is from my personal collection.

                          recommendations?

If I get an mp3 player or something do I pay some website to dl their music?
I have an iPod and really like it. The only thing I pay now, is when I buy individual songs from the iTunes store website.

iAudio/Cowon makes good mp3 players that you can drag and drop music to. They support more file formats than iPods, too.

Sansa Fuze was the only brand at best buy, they were out of the nano ipod zune etc.

                              8 GB for $85

I could probably get a good deal from the internet
