I heard it was very basic and simple stuff; a lot of beans & rice with grilled or fried fish, etc... SJU doesn't seem to be an airport which gets a lot of competition. You can fly LAX to Miami for ~$200 but the cheapest LAX to SJU flight is $498 (on US Airways). Hell, I can fly LAX to London or Amsterdam cheaper than that. San Juan, Costa Rica is a much better place then San Juan, PR (IMO) and you can get a flight for around $300.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.Comment
