Interestingly enough that was my first assignment dealing with tritium contaminated secondary systems. Came as quite a surprise to me that tritium can migrate through steam generator tubes in PWRs

Good news!

Nuclear experts who have followed the developments at the damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in northeastern Japan say that despite several setbacks, the possibility of massive radiation exposure remains low -- at least for now."I don't think we're really close to a meltdown," said Dale Klein, vice chancellor for special engineering projects at the University of Texas, referring to the Daiichi plant.There does appear to be some fuel damage to one of the reactors, but the seawater method to keep them cool seems to be working.

Given that the damage from this storm is 100 billion USD and 10k people dead, I think we can safely say that this nuke plant thing is a very small fraction of total damage of the earthquake (1-2 billion USD for each of the lost reactors including cleanup, plus a small number of deaths and injuries at the plant itself)
