Wait for the LG Optimus 3D.
Even if you do not care about the 3D, this is the best phone that'll be released soon.
Otherwise wait for the Samsung Galaxy S2 (would be stupid to take the Galaxy S original now the new one is about to be released).

I like phones... according to the DMCA, it's legal to do this on them:

To us, it is the BEAST.

He said price was a consideration (I took that as an indication it was more so than power), the S2 will not be cheap, the Galaxy S is getting pretty reasonable now, and is still a very powerful phone.

And neither of your choices are out by the 15th, so aren't relevant.

Galaxy S phones are being offered for £20 contracts now IIRC, plus you should be able to get them on a yearly contract, instead of the 18 month or 2 year ones.

I would say don't go with Orange, as I was getting some pretty ****ty signals (smartphones are relatively crap as actual phones!), but they've just tied up a deal to share T-Mobile's signal.

It's not a bad idea as a first smartphone to play about with while you get up to speed with what they do. Also you'll have myself and Mike as technical support as we've owned them since last year. Well, Mike anyway, I'm too lazy to get the most out of mine...

I know, just wanted to talk about the Omnia 3D and the Galaxy S2 anyway

I'm in the same position - needing a new phone and attempting to avoid the iPhone4. I generally assumed I'd get an HTC Desire HD, as I've had bad experiences with Samsung phones, but now they're on Android, I guess the Galaxy S is a sensible choice too. Tbh, I doubt I care too much either way.

Holy crap, you can buy MicroSD cards up to 32Gb now!!!

I bet you can't expand an iPhone 4 to 40Gb...

                    Get a Symbian phone.

Edit - missed the m. But that could also work as a substitute for an Apple?

                        Symbian is the troll.

HTC Desire is a really solid Android phone, at a slightly lower price bracket.
Thankyou Mike, I've noticed quite a few good offers on the Galaxy S and it seems to be quite well specced. I may well go for one of those.
