  • I quit my job. I want to see foreign lands. Advice?

    Hi guys

Here's the deal: I got tired of working for the bank. Hearing the news
that unemployment is on record high in my country I decided that
now is the right time to quit.

I've applied to a few job ads, I've been to a few interviews, but nothing so
far. My efforts to find a new job in Croatia have been half-hearted, to be sincere.

I think I'd like to move to China or something. It's a bit silly to not be quite sure
what one wants to do at age 29, is it?

But I simply know that I'm underused. I can do a lot... but I need an environment
    that is demanding.

So, anyone knows some multinational corporations working in exotic locations
    I could apply with?

        Nope, not all.

Vetlegion, 1) My bet is there are plenty of European banks trying to expand in China. So assuming you're not fed up with banks in general write 'open sollicitations' ( , don't know what the English phrase is actually) to any (european?) bank that you fancy. At least some will invite you for an interview.

          2) If you REALLY don't know what to do with your life, spend your time reading (employement) adds in papers or the net. Some of them will surely spark your interest, pursue those.

          3) And the most important: make clear to anybody you know or meet where you are now. The best things in life happen by accident.

Good luck! I've been there and everything turned out for the best following advise 3) (not that I knew then I was actually doing that )

Plenty of teaching jobs in China that can lead to other opportunities that you may be interested in.

But, Cockney is right. The women in South America are far looser than in China.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. The reason I come here for advice is that I like
the international atmosphere. My city is livable, but we're out of way and so we don't
have many foreigners, it's a bit uniform for my taste. You can't get a totally different
                      perspective.

It's not that I'm feeling lost or something... I feel great and I have lots of
energy and ideas... but little focus. I need to single out one thing and concentrate
on that. I find so many bloody things interesting.

If you're Croatian (I really don't know), you'd probably fit in well with all your fellow Nazis in Argentina. Good luck!

I'm Argentinian. They have Nazis in Croatia too? Cool, I have to visit some time.
